We are a community of people, covering all ages and cultural backgrounds. Our common link is Jesus Christ and our desire is to worship God and help others in their relationship with God. We long to grow into a deeper understanding of who God is.
We are part of the denomination called “The Christian Reformed Churches of Australia”. Though only a small denomination in Australia (approx 50 churches with 10,000 members) we belong to a large family of Reformed Churches around the world (including Presbyterian Churches). The origin of Reformed Churches goes back to the Protestant Reformation of the 15th and 16th centuries in which the church was challenged for its corrupt practices and unbiblical traditions. The Reformation represented a call to return to the Bible with an emphasis on:
God’s word alone as the final authority by which we are to live.
Christ is the one true Saviour of the world.
Salvation is a gift of grace alone and not by works.
We are saved by faith in Christ alone.
All of this is from God to whom we give all the glory.
We are committed to these teachings and applying these great truths to everyday life. We aim to bring the good news of love and peace to the community. God sent his Son to rescue the world from its rebellion against Him. We believe that Jesus is Lord over every area of life.
Regardless of your situation, Jesus Christ offers hope, peace and meaning for your life. Only He can forgive sin and provide eternal life. He is our only answer to the struggles we face in daily living.
We would love to share this with you.
WHAT WE BELIEVE.
The people of the Redlands Christian Reformed Church are ordinary people from all walks of life who believe that Jesus Christ is Saviour and Lord.
Our central message is the Good News that God so loved the world that he sent His Son into it. Jesus came into our world as a man, so that he could die for the sins of His people. But this was not the end of the story! Through rising again, He secured our forgiveness and the free gift of eternal life. Not only that, we have God’s promise of comfort, hope and meaning of life – regardless of what our situation may be. As Christians this is the good news we wish to share with the people of the Redlands.
Regardless of your situation, Jesus Christ offers hope, peace and meaning for your life. Only he can forgive sin and provide eternal life. He is our only answer to the problems and struggles we come across at home and in the community. We would love to share this with you.
In a world where so many things are changing, we really need to know what the Bible says.
Our beliefs are outlined in the statements of faith our Church subscribes to:
The Heidelberg Catechism The Apostle’s Creed
The Belgic Confession The Nicene Creed
The Canons of Dort The Athanasian Creed.
These documents adequately summarize what we believe
