Month of Prayer: June 04
Read: 1 Thess 2:13-16
Pray:
- That our attitudes and behaviour will be a true reflection of the attitudes and behaviour of Christ Jesus ( see v.14)
- Ask that as we interact more with our community, that the priorities of the Kingdom of God will be evident in our plans.
- Pray for wisdom in our plans with Ormiston, Boundary Rd, the wonderful resources God has given, and the best ways to use them for his glory.
RCRC Prayer Bulletin: Day Three
Month of Prayer: June 03
Read: Acts 17:1-9
Note: Being a Gospel witness is no cakewalk. Following Christ and being a witness to him will bring its opposition.
Pray
For discernment to see the true spiritual need of people around us
For wisdom to know the right words and actions to present a positive picture of Jesus to our community
For courage to keep on even in the face of opposition
RCRC Prayer Bulletin: Day Two
Month of Prayer: June 02
Read: 1 Thess 2:7b-9
Ask: What would need to change for you to “delight in sharing the Gospel” more? (v.8)
- Individually?
- As a church together?
Pray
- For openness to change that makes us more effective witnesses
- For the changes you need to make in this regard
- Start by doing one thing differently from today to be a better witness
Mid week News
This Sunday
This week I'll be starting a new series on the OT book of Esther in the mornings: It's a short book with plenty of juicy bits. Try and read it once a week during the series. It's especially helpful to read it through in one go a few times - it helps to give a sense of the overall story... this Sunday:
AM: When life is good...thank God (Esther 1-2) June 04
Sometime we are blessed beyond our expectations with opportunity and things going well. We can be tempted to think 'hey, this is the logical consequence of my ingenuity". Really? Should our response be governed by who we are or what we have done?? God wants us to realise that the good we have has come from him, and our call is to honour him in that.
PM: God’s plan is to unite, protect and advance his kingdom in the world
So far in this series in David we have seen God anoint, empower, and protect his king. We have seen David respond as a man / king who is after God’s own heart, trusts God and desires to see God’s honor above all things. But what is this all in aid of? This Sunday evening we begin to see what God is accomplishing through all this, for the kingdom of Israel, and how he is still about the same things in our world today, through his king Jesus.
Discover your gifts and how to use them!
The Bible tells us that as each member uses the gifts the Lord has given them the body of Christ moves toward maturity in thought, ministry and witness. RCRC will be running a course during June and July to help people find out where their gifts lie and how they can serve the Lord better. The course will be held over four Monday nights:
June 19
June 26
July 3
July 10
Each night will run between 7pm and 9pm. This course will help participants understand better who God has uniquely made them to be, and help them understand their place of meaningful service in the church. Learn about how the church works together, and the importance of your own contribution.
Register by emailing dave@redlandscrc.org.au
Cost: $20 to cover your books and materials

Brisbane Kids Games - Update
We are no longer talking weeks, its only 21 days until BKG starts. This week enrolments started to come in, which is very exciting to see as parents and kids get ready for this week. As a team we have been getting ready as well, with a leaders meeting this last week, and a team training day yesterday, Saturday.
Enrolments (IMPORTANT):
It has come to our attention that a number of people have read the forms as being $25 per day for a child, where it is actually $25 for the week. If you have friends who are thinking of sending children along, please bring this to their attention.
As enrolments come in we really want to encourage our own children to participate. Please enroll them this week.
For Volunteers
Remember we have a team meeting after the service this morning. It is really important that every one comes along because there is some important information to share with the group at this time.
For Everyone
Please consider whether you will be able to help with this week. Everyone can…
• Encourage people they know to enroll their children
• Come along and do some cleaning one afternoon to get the church ready for the next day.
• Pray for the event
We would also like to invite people to come along for a BBQ and Bush Dance on the Friday evening (30th June) here at the church. But we want to invite you for a very specific purpose – to speak, welcome and make feel at home visitors from our local community.
Prayer Points:
• Please pray for the children and parents of the community as they consider enrolling
• Pray that God’s Spirit will open up hearts and speak the truth of God into them
• Pray for the team members, as they seek to get everything organized
• Pray for all volunteers, for open hearts to receive the kids
• Pray for safety during the week (and great weather too!)
RCRC Prayer Bulletin
Month of Prayer: Thursday, June 01
The Church Council calls the RCRC congregation to a month of concerted prayer with regard to our future facility needs and our mission in this community.
Read: 1 Thess 2:1-6
- Thank God for the “trust” we have been given in the Gospel (v.4)
- What form has this taken at Redlands? What responsibilities does this place on us?
- Ask that he will open our eyes to the best ways to respond as a church.
If you haven't told us your coming to the breakfast, 7:30am Saturday @ RCRC, please email Ingeborg: office@redlandscrc.org.au
Call to Prayer during June
The Church Council calls the RCRC congregation to a month of concerted prayer with regard to our future facility needs and our mission in this community. We are all aware that the facility in Ormiston is coming under strain, and that further land has been purchased on Boundary Rd, Thornlands.
Choices about whether to or how to relocate, and what role church planting plays in this, are not clear cut. With regard to Boundary Rd, there are matters relevant to town planning, environment, main roads, etc. which require some investigation and the implications of these reports are at this stage unknown.
One thing is for sure: we cannot entertain the thought of doing nothing. 90% of our local community still lives outside the love of Christ. The Lord has blessed us richly these last years, and rather than have us think that the work has been done, Church Council is of the mind that these rich blessings may well indicate that our work is yet to begin.
With this in mind we ask you to pray that God will speak into every person’s heart so that we come to the meeting on Saturday with a clear vision of how are we might respond to what God has given us.
Friends, we are serious about being open to the Lord’s leading in this, and invite you to partner with us in this season of prayer. Please use this next month for reflection, prayer, discussion, and seeking the Lord’s will. We especially encourage you to ask the Lord for open minds, humble hearts, and a deep sense of unity as we walk ahead together.
Brisbane Kids Games
Well, we are now down to 4 weeks to go until kidsgames gets under way. Last weekend the 'coaches' attended a training day on their specific area of responsibility, and they came back with some great ideas, and a fair bit of work. It is going to be a busy 4 weeks. Here are a few things to remind you of.
Enrolements:
Forms are out now in the church hall, on the notice board. Please take one for your children, grandchildren, neighbours. We are starting to get enrolements in and would be disappointed if your children missed out. Please return the completed forms to Clinton or the office.
Volunteers:
A reminder of this Saturday's training day, at Bayside Christian Family Church, Preston Road, Wynnum West, from 9am to 3pm. You will have noticed that this is a slight clash with the breakfast to be held at the church. The idea is that we all go to the breakfast, and head off as soon as possible to the training day.
There will also be a volunteers meeting after the morning service on the 4th June (next Sunday) to run through the program, and look at different roles for the week. A MUST for volunteers.
More help required:
Over the last week, as we get closer, a few volunteers have pulled out because of other commitments. This leaves us with a few gaps that we would love to fill. If you have 1 or 2 mornings that week. This will be a huge help.
Prayer:
Please continue to pray for:
- Children that receive the flyers, that they will enrole
- God's peace to be on the program
- Parents of kids, that we might have great contact with them
- The volunteers, for their openness to the children
- The team, for strength and patience to get it all done

Coming to breakfast?
Breakfast Meeting: June 03, 7:30am – Please come!
A Redlands CRC church family breakfast is planned for June 03 at 7:30pm – and we’re praying the hall will be packed!
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss various options about future expansion. Our development application for Boundary Rd has been lodged with Redland Shire Council, and their initial response has asked us to demonstrate how the planned facility will meet the current zoning and planning criteria. They have further asked us to indicate how various regulations (eg. run off water, environmental issues, car parking) will be met. These are typical questions to be asked of any sizable development in this context. More detail will be given at the meeting.
In particular, Church Council seeks to approach this meeting with the following goals
· Listen to the congregation. Every voice is worth hearing: we are the body of Christ together. We need to move ahead into the future with a warm consultative approach
· Review and clarify our vision: what are the truly important foundational issues that will guide us as we resolve the questions before us? What impact does our vision have on:
o The Boundary Rd property and the options it presents?
o Our current property and the options we currently have?
o Any other possibilities that may be on the horizon
· Church Council encourages the congregation to a month of focussed prayer during June, specifically
o That the Lord would give us a sensitivity to the needs of our community and how we as his people might be used to address those needs
o That he would impress His will on our hearts by His Holy Spirit as to what He would have us do with regard to our future planning
o That He would give us a sense of urgency to this task, a spirit of unity in our calling, and a shared clarity as to how we move ahead together
Please let Ingeborg know your coming to the breakfast: we wouldn't want you to miss out on your bacon and eggs! Ingeborg's contact details: Church Office 3286 4700; 0417 791 097; email: office@redlandscrc.org.auChurch Council would also ask you to pray for the meeting representative of Church Council will have with Redland Shire Mayor, Don Seccombe, Divisional Councillor Debra Henry, and representative of the Town Planning department. This meeting will be held on site, and has been planned for Friday May 26 at 2pm.
Blessings, and see you on the 3rd!
