Proverbs 1:1-7
Of course we all want to live well and right, and to understand what life means and where it's going. Well, we must start with God, the first step in learning is bowing down to God, for "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom".
The Book of Proverbs deals with some 50 or 60 different topics and the topic we meet most often in this book, is our speaking. Proverbs is full of godly counsel as to how to speak wisely, so as to please God, and build up the people around us.
And yet, we all sin in the way we use our tongue; no one has as yet been able to tame the tongue. But Christ, through His Holy Spirit, is in the business of tongue-taming!
