Dave's Upcoming Sermon Mini Series: Answering Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code
With the release of the movie version of the da Vinci Code on May 18 it would be wise to be prepared for the inevitable questions people will ask about the movie's content.
The three message series starts next Sunday:
April 30 AM- Da Vinci - Is the Bible God's Word?
Is the Bible really God's word? Can it be trusted? How can we know this, really? What is the historical and manuscript evidence for the New Testament, and how does that compare with other ancient books?
May 14 PM - Da Vinci - Where did the New Testament come from?
Who decided what books to include? Is this a conspiracy? An arbitrary decision? How did our current New Testament 'happen'?, and are there other documents like the recently publicised "Gospel of Judas" that really should be included?
May 21 PM - Da Vinci - Is Jesus really divine?
Is it true that the Council of Nicaea (325 AD) basically agreed that Jesus should be regarded as divine, and then only by a narrow vote? Was the vote rigged? What should we believe? Can we trust what the Bible says about any of this? More importantly: can we trust Jesus?
