It has always been the case in this world that the powerful rule, and the weak get trampled on. It started with Cain and Able, and it continues on in the world today. It was the case at the time of Jesus birth as well. But in this amazing scene that we are going to consider this week, in Luke 1:39-56, we have two women, one old and barren, one young, unwed and pregnant, bearer the forerunner of the messiah and the messiah himself. You see Jesus turns this world and its thoughts and systems of power on its head. He started then - and he continues today.
