There are so many types of partnerships in our world. Marriage is a partnership; so is a business agreement. A political settlement is another type of partnership; and so is committing onself to a church family.
In the Bible we see that God is also very much into partnerships. He is the One who always takes the initiative. God comes to people, not the other way round!
How sad that God's human partners always let Him down!
But not Jesus! He is the only one who remains perfectly faithful to his Father, and in His ministry of dying and rising again brings such amazing changes to God's covenant with us.
That new ministry is the ministry of the Spirit of Christ; God's will no longer engraved on stone, but written in our hearts!
