URGENT NEED FOR R.E. VOLUNTEERS
There is a growing and urgent need for RE teachers in our local schools.
We are still very fortunate to be able to bring the word of God to students in Queensland.
Janette Hemelaar is the RE co-ordinator for Ormiston and we are very blessed to have all the necessary teachers to teach RE to all the classes at that school. However, this is not the situation at other local schools.
The RE co-ordinator, Lynn Keen at Hilliards Primary is also the chaplain there. She is so short on teachers that the ones she does have, are going to teach some classes for 6 months only and then teach the other classes for 6 months. What an absolute pity... Here we have the perfect opportunity to bring real HOPE to the city of Redlands by freely and openly bringing the word of God to the kids and we can't even fulfill this task because we don't have the people to teach them..
This is a passionate plea to our people for volunteers, who can teach for one hour a fortnight to Grades 2,3 5 or 6. The times are negotiable . The programme should be starting next week or the week after.
