We tell kids that God loves them, cares for them. We tell them that God is powerful, and can do anything he wants. And yet for some kids, and for some adults as well, these two things are hard to reconcile. How can we talk of a God who is loving and powerful, yet he appears to do nothing about abuse, neglect and hurt? Could it be that God is not really that loving, or even worse, that God is not all powerful? How do we reconcile these two things? This Sunday evening we will be looking at the issue of God's presence and place in abuse, seeking to wrestle with this very difficult issue.
