SCHOOL CHAPLAINCY

We are all well aware of the awesome value of the school chaplaincy program. It underwent a very rapid growth thanks to Federal Government funding. In the last budget, chaplaincy got another one year's worth of funding, but nothing in the forward estimates.
The recent changes in leadership of the Labour Party mean that, if Labour is re-elected, it will be very unlikely that the federal funding for the chaplaincy program will continue. It is important that we lobby our candidates now, to get them to get their party to commit to continue funding chaplaincy in our schools.
