Mid Week News
Sunday
9AM: "Hey, I'm coming!" ... "Yeah, so is Christmas..." Not the most encouraging thing you will ever hear. The one speaker is usually frustrated: it's all taking too long. The one being spoken to is normally stressed, wanting to get it all done quicker, but finding it impossible. Which one are you this Christmas? Which one might God be? And in an age of increasing frustration and stress, does the birth of Jesus make any difference at all?
5PM: What are you waiting for? We are all waiting for something. Maybe to get married, maybe to finish school, maybe just to be old enough to leave home. What is behind these desires, what drives them in our lives? When we read the book of Matthew we are reading a book written to a group of people who had been waiting for over a thousand years. Waiting for God - waiting for God to finally act in their lives and in the world. And Matthew's message is "The waiting is over." Could that be his message to us also this Christmas?
Kids@Church has finished for 2006.
And what a blessed year we have had! We started in January with 60 children and we now have 140 children enrolled. Praise God! We do however, need 8 more teachers for 2007. It's a great volunteer job! There are 2 teachers per class. Teachers are rostered on for one month and then off for one month. There is no teaching during school holidays. This totals approx 18 lessons per year.
This Sunday 17th our year 7 kids who are leaving K@C will be presented with a bible during the morning service. If your child is one of these kids please encourage them to come along on Sunday.
Finally, a big thank you to those who have been helping as teachers, helpers or greeters, we have achieved so much this year because of your help & commitment, we thank God for you - your help is sooooooo much appreciated!!
(There is a holiday program running during the holidays for Prep - Grade 3)
