Film and Theology

Shakespeare Behind Bars

Our first Film and Theology night will be held on

Thursday January 25th

7pm

Film and Theology is a way to present the themes of the Bible through contemporary media

The film “Shakespeare Behind Bars” is a documentary that takes us into a prison in the US to see a group of prisoners preparing to perform the Shakespeare play “The Tempest.” It explores themes of sin, redemption, justice and forgiveness through the lives of men who have committed and wrestle with the consequences of gross crimes.

We will watch the movie together and then think about the themes the movie raises and the gospel.

It’s a great way to introduce people to the message of Jesus in a non-threatening way

(This film is rated M – Moderate Themes and is not suitable for children)
