SUNDAY

Discovery Service 9am (only):  "Too much to carry...?"

It's amazing that in a country where there is so much freedom that people can experience such heavy burdens. Like, they are stuck in a rut and they can't get out. The weight of living can be incredibly heavy. Unbearable, even. In the NT world, the great gods were Rome's peace and prosperity and the religious power typified by Judaism. Neither of these gods brought freedom. Nor do the gods of today. They only freedom worth considering is the freedom Jesus brings. This service will especially be for your friends and family who do not know Jesus. On Sunday everyone will receive small invitations to pass on to others: please use them liberally. Please also pray that God will call people to himself through this service.

Feedback: dave@redlandscrc.org.au

5pm: "Life is like running a race. It's tough. We get tired. We get burdened. We lose the track. We trip up and stumble. But when we run God's race there is great encouragement. There is a cheer-squad. There is freedom. And there is Jesus. In God's race we need the right focus. Look to Jesus. Focus on Jesus. Any other focus is a waste of time. He is the only way to get to the finish-line. Read Hebrews 12:1-3 to get a glimpse of this encouraging message of hope in this tough life."

PROFESSION OF FAITH THIS SUNDAY PM:

Doug and Aimee Pobjoy, on their last Sunday with us, will publically profess their faith in the 5pm service. Aimee will also be baptized at this time.

We thank God for bringing them to this point, and invite you to come along and be a part of this great celebration of God's goodness.

Farewell BBQ for Aimee and Doug Pobjoy

This Sunday lunch (17th June, 12 noon) there will be a farewell BBQ for Aimee and Doug Pobjoy at Steve and Christina's place (26 Jasper Street, Alexandra Hills). BYO meat and bring a salad/drink to share. All welcome. Please let Steve and Christina know if you are coming. (mustangsteve83@hotmail.com). Hope to see you there!

Breakfast meeting: June 23, 8:00am

You're invited to another RCRC Happy Meal! We will get together for a breakfast meeting on June 23! We'll be discussing

  • Latest developments in the building program. The committee will be presenting options to the congregation before the meeting. These options will outline the nest recommended stage of development for the facilities at RCRC.
  • Leadership Structure: Sometimes people ask ‘what do the elders do here?' - the new leadership structure has enabled us to refocus the elder's role in a way which we believe will benefit ministry at RCRC. We'd love to be able to tell you more about it

The budget will also be discussed at this meeting.

If you wish to have a printed copy of the budget and building extension, they will be available at the info booth on Sunday.

Great Music this Saturday, 7:30pm

Coming Saturday night the Redlands Big Band and New Day Singers will be playing at RCRC. This is one of those community events where the church family can roll up in droves and meet some new people.  Tickets are $10.00 (concession $8.00), and available at the door. 1/3 of proceeds will benefit the Matthew Stanley Foundation.

Prayer

  • David Klease's mother will have major surgery tomorrow (Friday) for stomach cancer. As David understands the situation, the chances of his mother surviving the operation are about 50-50. David and Monique ask us to pray for his mum, who does not know the Lord. Please pray that Mrs Klease will know the love, comfort and forgiveness of Jesus. Please also pray for a positive outcome for the operation (Luke 23:39-43)
  • Pray for all who will join us on Sunday: asked for a renewed understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.
