2 Can Appeal
Monday July 16 to Friday July 27 is ‘Brisbane's Biggest Pantry Raid' as CityCare joins with 96five and IGA to get Brisbane to literally raid their pantries for the annual ‘2 Can Appeal'.
CityCare, who were recently hailed by the local media as "one of Brisbane's favourite charities", currently provide upwards of 10,000 free meals per year. CityCare is an essential life line for people sleeping on the streets or facing hardship, as well as assisting thousands each year with the essentials of life, such as food packages.
So... the kids, the mums and the dads of Brisbane are being given a special opportunity to make a difference in our beautiful city. Throughout the two week ‘2 Can Appeal', people from all walks of life in our community will be encouraged to give 'two cans' (or other non-perishable foods).
The two week appeal with culminate with a Live Broadcast by 96five featuring the Family Show with Liam on Friday July 27 at Brisbane CityCare, Fortitude Valley. This will be a great morning with an opportunity for business and schools who are involved in the appeal to be recognised for their great support.
We would love for you to be involved in such an important Brisbane event!
So here's how to get involved:
- Collect two cans of Non-perishable goods.
- Drop them off to Street Machine locations between Monday July 16- Friday July 27.
- Drop them off at your local IGA store
- Or drop them to 96five Studios at 81 Mina Parade, Alderley.

- Canned Tuna
- Canned Vegies
- Canned Soup
- Canned Meals
- Bags of Rice
- 2-min noodles
- Dried Pasta
- Cup of Soup
- Canned and Dried Fruit
- Baked Beans
- Crackers
- Cereals
