Sunday

9am & 5pm: New Life, New Values. Companies in the marketplace work hard to communicate the core principles that govern their operation. Hewlett-Packard ‘invent', BP ‘The Quiet Achiever', Australia Post: ‘we deliver'. What are the core principles that govern all you do? What is the core value God wants form his church community? We want to look at the inspirational picture God paints of the new community in Jesus. Read ahead at Eph 3:15-17.

New Elders

The elders met this week to consider the need for new elders. We bring the following names for the congregation to be affirmed as Elders at RCRC: Greg Tenni, and Eddie Bos. We present both these candidates to the congregation for affirmation, along with all the currently serving elders: Peter Goodridge, Frank Hemelaar, and David Klease. Peter Salisbury has decided to conclude his service as Elder. We thank God for Peter and the wonderful contribution he has made to leadership at RCRC. The date for the vote of affirmation of the three currently serving elders and the two new elder candidates will be on December 9.

In accordance with the rules for election, votes will be accepted in both services from all full members at RCRC. Each candidate must receive a at least an 80% positive vote to be (re)affirmed. Email and written votes will be accepted in the event that members cannot attend on Dec 09. Please copy the following and email to dave@redlandscrc.org.au (or print and hand to a current Elder or one of the pastors. Printed ballot slips received before the date of the election must be signed)

Schoolies this week

Please remember the thousands of year 12 students who are at schoolies this week. We know they all want to celebrate, but these weeks are often witness to some of the most disturbing events. Please pray for safety for all these young people. Please especially remember the Red Frog chaplains, who will be ringing a message of help, hope and grace. They work under extreme conditions, they work through the night, and it does not let up all week. We are sending one team to the Gold Coast and another to Great Keppel Island. Why not send them some text messages to encourage them through their week? Here are the details of the RCRC chaplains:

Lachie Black 0414 902 399
Melody Groenenboom 0431 144 126
Matt Kippen 0423 698 390
Bonnie Sikkema 0401 526 442
Carlee Spiers 0423 431 597
Sam Humphries 0448 439 754
Paul Johnstone 0403 465 459
Sasha Garner 0401 035 597
Rob Ferguson 0433 483 473

Internships ...on hold

At our Elders meeting this week we came to the prayerful conclusion that given Clinton's health and the extra load being placed in leadership, that we are not in a position to offer Internships at  RCRC during 2008. We are still committed to developing young leaders and assisting where we can with encouragement and general mentoring - so if you have plans or ideas, we'd still love to talk with you. We are hoping to offer internships again in 2009. We trust you understand an uphold us in this decision. And enquiries can be directed to dave@redlandscrc.org.au

Prayer

- Year 12 Graduates  - celebrate with their achievement and the close of their secondary school years. Please remember to pray for schoolies and the chaplains (see above)

- Continue to remember Clinton, Tracy and their family. Give thanks for the "juice Crew" - dedicated people who can juice acres of odd looking grasses in a single morning! Pray for God to intervene and bless Clinton with full recovery. Remember that Clinton and Tracy have families a long way away, who in addition to feeling removed, can also feel helpless as a result of the distance. Give thanks for a supportive and caring church family. And definitely: give thanks for Clinton & Tracy's outstanding attitude of faith, humility and endurance

- In case you didn't know: Christmas is coming. Why not do something different, and invite your neighbours to a BBQ. Show them hospitality and love, and help them see Jesus as the centre of our celebration.\
