Sunday

9am: Our focus will be on the 5th petition of the Lord's Prayer: Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors (Matthew 6:12)
Here's how the Heidelberg Catechism (1563) explained the meaning of this prayer:
"Because of Christ's blood, do not hold against us, poor sinners that we are, any of the sins we do or the evil that constantly clings to us.
Forgive us just as we are fully determined, as evidence of Your grace in us, to forgive our neighbours."

5pm: As an outsider looking in, Jesus returning to heaven is just a crazy idea. I mean, you want a movement that will change the world, and then the leader goes away and leaves it in the hands of the a rag tag bunch of disciples who have stumbled and spluttered their way through three years with Jesus. It's just a crazy way to go about it. Except that Acts chapter 2 happens - and all of a sudden mission impossible, becomes mission possible as Jesus pours out his Holy Spirit on the church.

New Elders

We bring the following names for the congregation to be affirmed as Elders at RCRC: Greg Tenni, and Eddie Bos. We present both these candidates to the congregation for affirmation, along with all the currently serving elders: Peter Goodridge, Frank Hemelaar, and David Klease. Peter Salisbury has decided to conclude his service as Elder. We thank God for Peter and the wonderful contribution he has made to leadership at RCRC. The date for the vote of affirmation of the three currently serving elders and the two new elder candidates will be on December 9.

In accordance with the rules for election, votes will be accepted in both services from all full members at RCRC. Each candidate must receive a at least an 80% positive vote to be (re)affirmed. Email and written votes will be accepted in the event that members cannot attend on Dec 09. Please copy the following and email to dave@redlandscrc.org.au (or print and hand to a current Elder or one of the pastors. Printed ballot slips received before the date of the election must be signed)

Eddie Bos, Treasurer of Redlands CRC will present the following motions for approval by the members

1.     To receive the financial statements of the RCRC as presented for the year 2006-2007

2.     To adopt the audited financial statements of the RCRC as presented for the year 2006-2007

3.     To appoint Frederiks and Associates as auditors for the 2007-2008 year

All statements will available to the congregation on Sunday Nov 18.

Note: for those who normally attend PM church, we advise that this meeting will only be held at 9am on Nov 25. Schoolies this Week

Please remember the thousands of year 12 students who are at schoolies this week. We know they all want to celebrate, but these weeks are often witness to some of the most disturbing events. Please pray for safety for all these young people. Please especially remember the Red Frog chaplains, who will be bringing a message of help, hope and grace. They work under extreme conditions, they work through the night, and it does not let up all week. We are sending one team to the Gold Coast and another to Great Keppel Island. Why not send them some text messages to encourage them through their week? Here are the details of the RCRC chaplains:
