Sunday

9am: Being filled with the Holy Spirit. Find hope/strength/encouragement in your daily Christian walk. Spring-boarding from Paul's admission of times in his personal life of doing what he doesn't want-not doing what he wants (Rom.7:15-25), rest in God's grace (Is.55:1; Jn.4:14; 7:37-38).

5pm: How do you change our world? What different can we really make? If it's true that society has lost its moral fibre, can we ever get it back? Paul says the Gospel has an impact on homes, families and the workplace - but do these things really help us today? Can we apply them in 2007? Or does our society, the quality of relationships, and the state of families today offer us a better solution? Read ahead at Col 3:18 - 4:1

New Elders

We bring the following names for the congregation to be affirmed as Elders at RCRC: Greg Tenni, and Eddie Bos. We present both these candidates to the congregation for affirmation, along with all the currently serving elders: Peter Goodridge, Frank Hemelaar, and David Klease. Peter Salisbury has decided to conclude his service as Elder. We thank God for Peter and the wonderful contribution he has made to leadership at RCRC. The date for the vote of affirmation of the three currently serving elders and the two new elder candidates will be on December 9.

In accordance with the rules for election, votes will be accepted in both services from all full members at RCRC. Each candidate must receive a at least an 80% positive vote to be (re)affirmed. Email and written votes will be accepted in the event that members cannot attend on Dec 09. Please copy the following and email to dave@redlandscrc.org.au (or print and hand to a current Elder or one of the pastors. Printed ballot slips received before the date of the election must be signed)

Next week...

From Monday Dave will be in Sydney for a few days. He will be undertaking training through Ministry Advantage. The focus of this is to gain greater competency in leader development. Dave will be part of a national program starting in 2008 to assist pastors in the development of their mission and ministry. The Elders believe this will have some significant flow on at Redlands and for Dave personally.

Dave & Leonie will also be away from Friday to Sunday enjoying a bit of time out.

Urgent pastoral matters can be referred to Clinton, Keith Warren or Peter Goodridge

Planning for this year's RCRC Carols is already underway. The choir is getting ready, and the army of people working behind the scenes are preparing for the big event. Now is the time to be inviting friends and neighbours. Flyers will be available, and homes in the area will shortly be canvassed.

When: Dec 16

Carols: from 6:30pm

Prayer

- Clinton and Tracy continue to be thankful for the way their church family support them. These are some of the ways God's love and presence are communicated to us. Please continue to pray for endurance, strength and healing

- As the year comes to a close, that people will remember the real meaning of Christmas
