9am: Stock market crashes, rising interest rates, increasing breakdown of family, moral decline. Buy tomorrow's paper and read the human story for yourself. God has a different story: it's one of hope. He's been telling this story since the garden of Eden, and we've seen its outstanding climax in Jesus. The challenge is this: how do we carry the message of hope to the community we live in?
5pm: Taking risks is not always an easy thing to do - but taking risks is at the core of following Christ. What risks? Dietrich Bonheoffer wrote: "When Christ calls a man, he bids him come and die." Jesus also describes discipleship using the imagery of "dying." What might this look like in the context of living among irreligious people in an ever and rapidly changing environment? This was the challenge Jesus' early disciples faced, a challenge not unlike the one Christ followers face today. So what would it take for unbelievers to "see Jesus" today?

If you are unable to serve on the designated date, could you please arrange to swap with someone the week before or after. This way each job is covered every week.
