9am: The Pattern of Prayer
With all the calls for us to have ‘devotions' and ‘time with God', and that those times should be sustained, informed and worshipful, how can we actually make it happen? What concrete steps can we take? How do we move beyond the stale air of self centeredness? If you observe some of God's praying people in Scripture we see something very enlightening: they hardly ever prayed for themselves! OK, so what did they pray for? (Read ahead: Ps 72, Col 4:2-6, Amos 2, John 17)
5pm: To be perfectly honest, I have no problem with God announcing and bringing judgment on bad, sinful people. Not nice for them, sure, but it kind of fits. But the problem I have with Amos is that it is written to people who were Old Testament "Christians." People who thought / assumed /believed like they were safe from the judgment of God. Now that is scary, because it makes me ask the question, "if that happened to them, can the same thing happen to me?" This Sunday as we look at Amos 2-3, we are going to look at the differences and similarities between 'covenant' and being 'saved', and be asked a very important question, are we really saved?
Boundary Rd
Last week Frank Hemelaar chatted with the real estate agent to check on the current status of the due diligence on the Boundary Rd sale. He made the following observations:
"It appears the purchaser has had on site meetings with council, and is working through the probable processes for their preferred property use.
It's not an easy and straight forward process for them, but I was reassured that they are still keen to move forward. Maybe we could look at donating the cows to them so that the property remains a ‘rural' operation."
As I have stated before, there is every reason for this to fall over and not work, so please continue to uphold this matter in your prayer diary. (Add it to your diary note as requested by Dave).
In Christ, Frank Hemelaar

India Mission Trip
Hello family in Christ! We have had quite an adventure thus far! Sardine packed buses, crazy busy streets with only one road rule, HONK YOUR HORN if you have one or get out of the way quick! Spending a day at the police station for sharing the Gospel and making sure we were not in connection with the Muslim Terrorists! We have tried every flavor of rice in India by now! We have had awesome opportunities to preach, share testimony, SING - quite a motley crew of singers we are but GOD is getting the glory! TOO FUNNY! We have never met so many Chrisians that are ON FIRE for JESUS! And have great Passion for the KINGDOM!! There seems a very true Spirit of unity among believers and churches! It was really sad to see some of the living conditions here, made our hearts ache. We sure feel grateful for our humble home.
People living on the streets to having a little palm branch roof over their head proped up by sticks. But the smiles on the faces would make you think they are some of the happiest people in the world. They are very generous to us and take such good care of us.
The educators convention was great, Ruth shared the Gospel, knowing that the WORD of GOD is what is needed in the schools. And Lance will be sharing on Monday and Tuesday night at the crusade, so please keep him in your prayers! And that many will come to the saving knowledge of our GREAT PRECIOUS GLORIOUS SAVIOUR!
We sure have been blessed in our walks with the Lord since being here, GOD has shown us so much and spoken to us about so many things! Ruth has been amazingly brave through morning sickness and not wanting to rest cuz she doesn't want to miss out on anything!
One of the things that touched our hearts was taking children toothbrushes for the first time, and seeing their faces light up. And watching the kids receive the colored pencils as a reward for the end of the school year! We have loved the sights and colors, the monkeys and the stories of cobras. Eating fresh coconut and the juice!
A big thankyou to all who donated items for us to bring the love of JESUS to India! Thank you to those who so generously provided landscaping work for Lance at their home. God has provided in many wonderful ways as we have stepped out in faith to serve HIM! You are awesome! Continue to keep us in prayer! We will be returning to Brisbane on May 12! And back to work with a new perspective on life!
Eternally serving HIM,
Lance and Ruth Bishop
