Hi Church,
This morning I mentioned a few websites you can regularly visit that will wonderfully expand your understasnding of what God is doing in his world, and how you can make yourself part of it. You can listen online at www.redlandscrc.org.au/sermons
In reality, there are many of these websites, and I only mentioned a few. Even so, they may be a good place for you to start, and then, not just a good prayer habit, but a redemptive use of the Internet, or a Coffee ministry (sounds great!)
Check out the following:
- www.tear.org.au Tear Australia is becomeing a leading voice in projects sensitive to local culture and biblical values. Inventors of the original Alternative Gift Catalogue...
- www.compassion.com.au Compassion Australia is known to many of us for its child sponsorship programs. Melody Groenenboom, Suz Faulkner and Heather Zerk are all compassion ambassadors. they would love to tell you more about that work
- www.ijm.org The International Justice Mission was started by Gary Haugen and others to assit people trapped in modern contexts of slavery. They do outstanding work, and will reframe your understanding of mission and the call of the church. Gary Haugen will be speaking at this year's Leaders Summit (Oct 10-11, Gateway Baptist Church)
- www.worldvision.org.au World Vision Australia, has been a long term player in child sponsorship and relief work. They also have a great link that will tell you all about the need for Fair Trade Coffee, Tea and other products. Check it out at www.worldvision.org.au/coffee
