 SUNDAY

9am: Questions of Prayer: Does it make a difference?

"Prayers of request tend to fall into one of two categories: trouble or trivia" (Yancey) Does prayer really make any difference? What ‘difference' are we wanting to see? What if prayers go unanswered? Did Jesus ever find his prayers unanswered? Have read of Psalm 42 to warm up for the message.

5pm: When worship becomes about us and what we want to do, it becomes a form of plastic religion. We are forgetting what lies at the heart worship - God. Worship is not about music or methods. It's not about us and what we love to do. Worship is about complete humility before an awesome and holy God. It is about our unworthiness before our perfect God. We quickly limit worship to the things we want to tell God or sing to God. But worship is not heartfelt if we are not standing before his holiness, open and vulnerable, in complete humility, silenced by his perfection.

Cyclone Nargis - Appeal this Sunday

This Sunday we will have a special appeal for the disaster relief in Myanmar. Bella, Israel and their team are desperately helping as many people as possible in their immediate area and beyond.

We urgently require funds to go in for food, medical and essential items. We have found means to bring the funds into the country and channeled directly to the orphanage.

100% of the funds will go to the cause.

 Tax Deductable Receipts.

If you require a tax deductable receipt for your donation, envelopes will be available on Sunday. Please write your name and address on the envelope and a tax receipt will be issued.

Please consider this prayerfully in the days ahead. Any queries, please call Eddie Bos 0416 000 600.

Prayer

The situation in Burma :

- for the Military regime that runs this country that their hearts will be softened to the needs of these people

- for these struggling believers in Burma

- that God will show you how much you can give on Sunday to help these people that God has placed in our radar

- thanks for the guarantee that 100% of what we give will  be put in the right hands

- thanks that God has provided a means of getting support to the people without us needing to go in

For Melody

- Melody is off on her mission assignment in Durban from (way too early on) Friday. She'll be keeping us up to date, and what you can do is pray for the team at Tennyson House, Durban and for Melody as she settles in. Pray for the Lord to work through her ministry.

Those struggling with illness as the change in whether occurs.

- that they will recover to manage their daily activities
