Sunday's Coming!
9:00am “I have a friend who struggles with a double life” Who are you on a Monday morning? We all know the reality, church on Sunday was great, a real lift, a boost, a reconnection with God and his people, a recommitment to God’s mission. But come Monday morning, something has happened. It’s like 8 hours of sleep slowly dissolved everything that was so certain and sure the day before. So how do we close that gap, how do we deal with the disparity of Sunday vs. the rest of the week? We will wrestle with 1 Peter 2:4-5, and have our vision of Jesus, his people and his mission expanded, beyond Sunday, and on into the week.
5:00pm “Men & Work” This is the final in “It’s a Bloke’s World” series We’ll be looking at why is it easy for a man to work too hard and too long too often. How can we find a sense of balance? Is it really possibly to really love your work, really love your family/others, and really love God all at the same time? And why did Jesus invest so much effort as an apprentice carpenter with Joseph, only to become a preacher/rabbi?
Mark your Diary: Congregational Breakfast: Saturday, August 16 (8:00am)
The whole church family will meet to finalise plans and consider a tender for the extensions. I am not sure what you think, but these breakfasts really are great times of fellowship. You get to meet people, share a meal, and see how the people of God can do business well. We really want a strong and united voice to move ahead on the extensions. We would love to see the place packed out. Small Group Leaders: please encourage every family represented in your group to come along. Come on, young people, old people, families - this is your church! Please come, and let's walk this road together!
The following motions will be presented:
♦ That the congregation of the RCRC accept the quote as presented (dated the 4th August ) by Schultz and Burns, or lesser amount should amendments be made.
♦ That the plumbing services be co-ordinated and completed under the supervision of A. Holz to a value of approx $7500
♦ That all electrical work be co-ordinated and completed under the supervision of D. Bevan to a value of approx $7500
Background Information:
The current quote amount for the Schultz & Burns tender totals - $305,000 plus GST. ( The GST amount is something we will claim back ). It includes the fit out and PC items, but excludes plumbing, electrical and painting. It also excludes carpets, sound and visual equipment and kitchen equipment.
The estimate for the kitchen fit out will be noted at the congregational meeting, but this will need to be addressed financially at another time (treasurer’s request !!)
