Sunday's Coming!

9am:  How special it would be if Jesus would write us a letter, specifically to Redlands CRC.
Well, He did do that, you can read it in Revelation 2:1-7. True, this letter was for the ancient church in Ephesus, but as it's in the Bible, it is also for us. Lots of activity in this Ephesus church, they couldn't stand wrong teaching, they did not deny Christ. But was it all done with a cold heart? How is that possible? How will we take this to heart today?

5pm: Sunday evening we begin a new series in the book of 1 John, looking at how we can be a Community of Light in this world. Through this letter we'll tackle many challenges to our faith, address difficult lifestyle changes, and come out the other side renewed and refreshed in God's love. In the first week, we'll be looking at being a Community of Purity, continually throwing off sin and obeying God. The question we need to ask ourselves is, "Am I being honest about my sin?" The forgiveness of Jesus is powerful, but only if we are willing to acknowledge our need for it. And when we do, we receive confidence to obey God and live pure lives.
