9am: Worship ...as a spiritual discipline
Do you ever think about ‘awe' and ‘wonder'? If so, does worship ever fit that description? I know, it's a pretty laden comment, but there are ways that we approach worship that will almost definitely set us up for failure. How can worship and awe be more connected in our experience? Read ahead at Hebrews 12:18-29
5pm: Reading Genesis can be most fascinating. Some of the stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the rest of the family can be entertaining, but leave us wondering "What on earth is God trying to tell us here?" But when we read it remembering what we saw in Genesis 1-11, and looking at God's promises in Genesis 12, we see that God is not just trying to entertain us, but tell us some vital news about his world rescue operation. He is telling us about how this reversal of the fall is going to take place, what he is going to do through Jesus, and also how he is going to use us. Don't forget to get ready for random passage, this time from Genesis 12-50. There are some great ones there, so come prepared.

You can help Dave write his sermons...
Dave has a ‘blog' (another name for an interactive webpage) which he uses as a sermon workshop. The idea is that people contribute ideas and make suggestions as the messages and series are being formed. You're free to give it a try at http://preachersgroundfloor.wordpress.com and click on RSS Subscription. Please also read the "Welcome" page for the guidelines.
Prayer Diary
- Pray for those following the Rabbi in Israel at present. Reports are that lesson in faith and following are abounding!
- Alana Salisbury (with her parents) is on the Redlands College Sydney Canberra trip: please pray for energy and strength to enjoy and benefit from the trip. Please also ask for restoration and recovery.
- Lachlan Black is training at the Qld Police Academy, and the Qld Police Force has lost nearly 500 officers in the last year. Pray for the men and women who work to keep our community safe: they are God's gift to us
- The ministry team meets next Monday: ask God to lead them in such a way that Jesus is honoured and glorified through all we seek to do
