Bush Dance!!

HSM is inviting the whole church to bust out the boots and flannel shirts for night of good ol' fashioned fun - that's right, a bush dance! It promises to be a great time of community and a chance to raise some more funds for Burma! All your questions are answered below, so mark your diaries, grab your families, and invite all your friends!

When is it?  Saturday, 18th October, 2008.
What time?  6:00pm til 9:00pm.
How much?  $30 for families; $8 for singles (all profit goes to Burma).
Where is it?  @ the Church.
Who do I see?  See Dan Kroon or Mark Farmer for tickets (or just rock up and pay on the night)!
What do I bring?  A plate of supper to share.
Who is it for?  Absolutely everyone!

See you there!

Sunday

9am: We have heard a lot about the need to make a difference on our world. We talk about ‘hope for Redlands' and we have a program for this, and a process for that, and we have to read this book, and go to that seminar. Sometimes it seems there are too many demands placed upon us: we're busy enough, right?

The surprising thing is that being God's change agents may not be that complicated after all. It may not as hard as you might think, in fact it might be very simple. Sunday morning we will be find out the ingenious plan of God, and even see it at work. You can read ahead at Titus 2:1-10

5pm: If it were up to me, the Bible would be a much simpler and shorter book. Basically, it would jump from God's promises to Abraham in Genesis 12, straight to Jesus in the New Testament. I wouldn't have bothered with all that stuff about Israel and kings and temples, just adds too much time and confusion into the whole equation. But I am not God, and surely he did know what he was doing> So what are we to make of the nation of Israel, especially as they fall into decline, get taken away into captivity and return just a shadow of their former glory? This week we look at the Exile and the Prophets, and see that without Israel and their failure, we wouldn't really understand Jesus. If you want to read ahead, go for the book of 2 Chronicles.

Christmas Choir - it's on again!

Love to sing? Thought about joining a choir?

Now is the time to do something about it! RCRC Christmas Choir is looking for singers to join us for the 2008 RCRC Christmas Carols. You don't have to be a trained singer or be able to read music - a love of singing and a positive attitude is all that is required. Practices will be held on Saturday afternoons 3:30 - 5pm at the church, starting the 25th October. All ages welcome, particularly MEN! (Don't be shy! Real men sing!) If you would like to join up, please see Melissa van Schyndel or Christina Faulkner, or email christinaruth@hotmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you!
