Mid Week News

 Sunday

9am: We often think that Jesus death and resurrection, and the resulting holiness that this brings us, is purely to do with us getting into heaven. God makes us clean, so that we can be in relationship with him, and live with him forever. And this is of course very true, and praise God that it is. But when we read Titus we see that there is more than this as well. Be are made right, so that we will live right. We are made holy, so that we will live holy, and in so doing be God's instrument of restoration in the world. Read ahead in Titus 3:1-11

11:30am: Come and join the RCRC Church Family for a time of fun and fellowship and enjoy a  BYO Picnic.
Where:   Apex Park, corner of Starkey and Sturgeon Streets, Ormiston (Please note change of venue!)

What to bring:  Food, Drinks, Chairs and Friends

We look forward to seeing you there!

5pm: You've probably noticed: often when people start talking about'; the last days' the tone of conversation changes, often shifting into a ‘minor key'. God wants us to think about the last days, but the interesting thing is that the Bible speaks of Jesus' return in wonderfully positive terms. It's a victory we're longing for! So, what are ‘the last days', what does it mean to live in them? What is ‘heaven' and why/how should we be longing for it? Finally, does God have a plan for his people until Jesus returns? This message will be full of challenge, and there are bound to be a few surprises. Read ahead at Rev 21.

New Elders

Frank Hemelaar and Dave Klease are bringing their service as elders to a close. They are served well and we thank God for the way he has worked through them. This means we need two new elders, so we're asking the congregation for nominations of men suitable to serve as elders. In addition to passages like 1 Tim 3, elders need to be supportive of RCRC's mission and vision, exemplary in their behaviour, and display gifts of leadership. You can email your suggestions to dave@redlandscrc.org.au, or even hand them through in written form. Closing date for suggestions is Nov 11. The elders will meet on that date to finalise nominations.

We ask you to prayerfully give this matter your consideration, and ask for the Lord's guidance as we choose new leaders.
