Sunday

9am: Don't you just love coming home after a long time of absence? Even when you have had a great time away, its good to get home. The smells are familiar, you know where everything is, people are glad to see you, it just feels... right. What we don't often appreciate is that when we come to faith in Jesus, God brings us home. Home to himself, and home to his people. Its where we are meant to be, its that place that is just... right, and it fits. This Sunday we will be looking at that idea of God bringing people home, as we consider Zephaniah 3:14-20.

5pm: On Sunday evening four of our young people are professing their faith and sharing their testimonies. This is an exciting celebration for these young people, their families and the whole church community. It is a time to remember the great promises God makes to his people, how he fulfills them in Jesus and how he guarantees life through the gift of his Spirit. We often focus on our agreement to follow Jesus, but it's good for us to also remember God's decision to bring us into his family. Afterall, our faith -  the profession and the growth - is another amazing example of God at work. Read ahead: 2 Corinthians 1:18-22.

Red Frogs needs Pancake Shaker donations...!

Pancakes are a vital part to the Red Frog Program as they provide a door into the hearts of young people.
At Schoolies Week, Red Frog Crews will go through 2000 pancake shakers.
If every volunteer brought a couple of pancake shakers with them to Schoolies this would make a big difference.

So get your mum, dad, grandparents, neighbours, church friends to donate pancake shakers to the Red Frog cause and bring them with you to Surf City on the 21st November at check-in's or when you arrive at Call Centre.
There will be a Red Frog Merch Prize pack for the person who brings the most pancake shakers in.

For more information phone the Red Frog Hotline on 1300 557 123
or if you would like to drop your pancake shakers into a pancake drop off point, check out our website for location details.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Schoolies Week!  ..... with pancakes.......!!!

Coming Sunday

While you'll read message blurbs in another place, I wanted to say how thrilled I am to be looking forward to Sunday 5pm: four young people will profess their faith in Jesus (Simon, Mark & Jenny Nugent, and Liesl Wium). For a pastor, these  days are the absolute highpoints! Hearing people talk of how Jesus is changing their lives is just the best. My guess is it's the same for you, so I want to encourage you to come and celebrate this great occasion with the young people, and to be a warm, welcoming community!

Dave

Let's Sing Those Carols!

I'd also encourage us to warmly engage with the Carols preparation. We're serious about wanting to see Redlands become a community of hope, and singing that message loud and clear is just one way we can do this. We all know Christmas and the lead up is a busy time: all the more reason for us to be focussed about the message of Jesus. Let the love and grace of Jesus radiate, friends, and show those around us that living for Jesus really is life to the full.

In our prayers

Bev Bird heard earlier this week that her brother had died. He'd been suffering from cancer, and took a sudden turn for the worse on Sunday, and on Monday he passed away. Phil and Bev will be travelling to Geelong this week as a result. Please give them your prayerful support, asking that God will work through them to comfort those who are grieving.

Dave Barham also spent some time in St Andrews this week after chest pains. He underwent an angiogram on Wednesday, but results are not yet known. Please surround David and his family with your love and prayers. Their additional burdens become the context for grace and care from Jesus' people.

Please also pray for the elders of Redlands CRC as they seek men to take over from Dave Klease and Frank Hemelaar. Ask that we may find two men who will continue leadership with diligence.

Photocopier - out of order

The photocopier in the administration room may be out of order until 24th November. So please make alternative arrangements.
