Mid Week News
Sunday
9am: Have you ever experienced utter hopelessness? That point where you have run out of options, and have nowhere left to turn? It's a scary and desperate place to be. When we open up the pages of Luke, the nation is Israel is there. They may not know it yet, but its pretty bad. Even one of the priests refuses to believe God, even when an angel personally turns up to give him the message. But its into that situation that Jesus comes. And he comes to bring hope, and a new beginning, for the nation, for the world, and for people like us. Jesus is still about turning up in hopeless situations. He is still about bringing hope and new beginnings. Read ahead in Luke 1:68-75
5pm: Christmas time is a time of waiting and expectancy. Waiting for holidays, expecting pre-requested gifts, waiting for food, expecting happiness, waiting for the new year, expecting new chances. And yet there's a deeper waiting and expectancy going on as well. We're waiting for salvation and the ultimate joy that comes with it, just as Simeon and Anna were doing (Luke 2:21-40). We're waiting for more. But often, as we wait for more, we forget about those who are waiting for their first truly meaningful Christmas. So, as we wait for more, we need to remember that Jesus has already come and brought hope and redemption to the world so that we can share it with those who are waiting and in desperate need of more. We could die happy today having known Jesus, if not for the millions who have not heard he has come.

Christmas Lunch
Not everyone has somewhere to go on Christmas Day. For some, it is a very lonely day. So, we're wanting to provide a caring, happy environment - not to mentioning a smashing good Christmas Dinner - to all and any who may want to come.
This idea has been very warmly received by the RCRC family, and a dedicated team of people is now making this happen. There are invite flyers in the foyer for you to pass on to people you know who you'd like to invite.
If you'd like to come, or be part of the team, please email Dave dave@redlandscrc.org.au or Margaret mnugent@redlandscrc.org.au.

Engagement
Lucy Murphy and Daniel de Ruysscher announced their engagement this week. Congratulations!!
Prayer
Friends of Les and Cathy Sherwen, Greg and Di Osborne have a prayer request . Their new son in-law received news of a malignant cancer in his mouth on his honeymoon. He and Jessica, his wife ,are waiting on further results. Di and Greg would love you to join with them in prayer for his healing and for God's peace in this situation. You would appreciate the shock the newlyweds are in .
Boundary Rd: Pray that a buyer may be found for the Boundary Rd and that a fair price may be received. A good sale will release resources to reduce debt, and that would be a very good thing. E do not doubt that God will hear our prayers because of Jesus!
Pray for our local community, and ask for opportunities to share the hope of Jesus this Christmas. Remember that the Carols and the Christmas Dinner are expressions of our desire to ‘Go' - please prayerfully support them.
