Victorian CRC Churches and people safe from fires ...for now
By Pastor Michael Vanderree (Hope in the Hills CRC, Tecoma)

Firstly, thanks for the various messages of prayerful support and the intercessions of protection and care. There have been no losses sustained by our church, or others apart from a fire truck and some personal injury to a couple of firemen. For that we pray for healing.

Secondly, we had a dozen or so families who were evacuated. Some were severely shaken, for one couple they lost their house in Ash Wednesday and the fire on Monday came within a 100 metres of their home.

Thirdly, as they are all back in their homes, the concern now is for Friday (Feb 27) which will have the combination of high temperatures and strong winds that can create some serious fire risk.

I would ask that you continue to pray for some of QLD's rain to fall here and for safety for the CFA and residents alike in our area.

Regards

Michael Vanderree
