Easter 2009
Late last Sunday evening the ABC showed a 'Compass' program, entitled 'The Hidden Story of Jesus'. It was a presentation by an English theologian whose aim it was to find similarities between the story of Jesus, and stories of other religions.
And there certainly appear to be some similarities. One thing however was glaringly absent in his presentation, and that was the UNIQUENESS of the Christan story!
The death and resurrection of Jesus should have been presented as absolutely different from what any other religion offers!
For without Jesus taking upon Himself the righteous judgment of God against US, and without Jesus rising again, proving thereby that His saving work was truly done, what hope do we have? None!
Let us celebrate Easter 2009 by not just singing about the wonderful resurrection news, but let us celebrate daily in response to the Easter news by LIVING A NEW LIFE!
