Sunday Services 5th November 2017

9am Service: Called to Shepherd
This morning is a very important and special occasion in the life of the church. We are ordaining and installing elders to serve and to shepherd this congregation. It is visible sign that Jesus is pouring out his gifts on the church. In our text today, Peter is calling the Elders to ‘be shepherds of God’s flock’. In the New Testament we read Jesus talking about us as being His sheep and he as our Shepherd. It is wonderful imagery that Peter picks up as the duty of the Elder. This morning we will pick up the imagery and try and recapture what Peter is saying as an encouragement and a challenge to Elders and to the congregation. It is a humbling thing to be a sheep, but also to be an under-shepherd to Jesus.

5pm Service: Comfort in a World of Chaos
Increasingly as the world becomes more hostile to Christianity and the values we hold dear, it is easy for us to become fearful and discouraged. In the Old Testament, Israel went through similar experiences, but in Isaiah 51 we see an encouragement from the Lord on why we don’t need to give up or give in.
