Talking about our materialistic and consumer-driven culture, an author named Krishan Kumar says: “In this simulated world, images become objects, rather than reflecting them, reality becomes Hyper-Reality. In Hyper-Reality it is no longer possible to distinguish the imaginary from the real… the true from the false.” In so many ways this phenomenon isn’t new. While it seems obvious to us, we see how, in their context, Israel had the same predicament: who is the real God and who the false? This Sunday we’ll see how Mt Carmel settles the question.
