Last Sunday we saw how God enters into a conversation with Moses to remind him that he is a person of promise and of purpose. God also invites Moses into the mission he had for him – a mission that left Moses with great trepidation. So much so that he asks God why it is him that has to do this work. Why can’t someone else do it? In response, God assures Moses that things will be OK because he will go with him. Moses will never be alone. It may seem to us that this assurance should have sufficed and yet it didn’t. Moses needed more. This week we’ll finish the story of how God moved Moses along into the job he had for him, much like he often moves us into the work Jesus has for us.
