The theologian Alister E. McGrath once wrote: “The Holy Spirit has long been the Cinderella of the Trinity. The other two sisters may have gone to the theological ball; the Holy Spirit got left behind every time.” Of course, this situation was true up until the rise of the charismatic movement in the 20’th century, which put the Holy Spirit center stage of theological debate. Yet, despite the influence of the charismatic movement (and often because of it) many Christians are still left with a good deal of uncertainty about the Holy Spirit. Who or what is he? How do we experience him? How does he work? What does he do? This Sunday we’ll kick off a series on the Holy Spirit which will hopefully answer many questions and bringus closer to the very One of whom we’ll speak. Please join us.
