This week we begin a brief Easter series that will lead us to the great passage that examines Jesus’ victory over death for us (1 Cor 15). To get there however, we need to ask the question, ‘where has death come from?’ That takes us right back to the beginning of history. Adam and Eve were not created to die, but when they rebelled against God death entered the world. Not just physical death, as we explore Genesis 3 we will see much more was damaged than their physical well-being. We will also examine their rebellion, so that we might understand more deeply how we perpetuate their sin and so continue to
experience death. This is not a hopeless story however, for even back at the first sin there was promise of salvation.
