In the passage this morning, Paul mentions his thanks for the mother and grandmother of Timothy, his ‘trainee’. They had passed on a huge legacy to Timothy, one that would last for eternity. What was that legacy? The sincere faith that was lived out in their lives. We combine Mother’s Day with a baptism and want to think about the number one concern for Timothy of these women. It wasn’t a good job for him; it wasn’t a great education to open doors of opportunity for riches and success; it wasn’t a trade that helped him provide for his family. Their concern was the passing on of the Gospel. Mothers, Kat and Trev too, as you raise your children and grandchildren make this your number one concern.
