A few weeks ago we began our examination of a new section of Romans. Paul is explaining how the gospel should shape our lives. No longer should we conform to the pattern of the world, rather we long to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so we can live in a way that pleases God. Last we week we saw that meant not putting ourselves as first, but using our gifts for the good of the body, the church. Paul now describes transformed love. How should we relate to our brothers and sisters in Christ and how should we relate to those outside the church, especially those who do not like us? The answer Paul gives is at once scary because it is so against our sinful nature, but also beautiful for the same reason.
