“It takes some work for us to reclaim for our imaginations the true picture of the arrest of Jesus. Some of you might see in your mind’s eye the richly painted, perfectly posed scene often depicted in classical art. Others of us are stuck with a cardboard and plastic version of what we’ve seen acted out in some church basement.” How true are these words of Michael Card? It’s so hard for us, 2000 years removed from the scene of Jesus’ arrest to ‘get’ how intense and how significant every detailed aspect of this event is. This Sunday as we step into that event we’ll come closer to grips with the magnitude of what occurred in that garden and how it alters our lives beyond measure. Please join us.
