In the passage, Jesus is asking the important question, ‘What do you think about the Christ?’ For the Teachers of the Law to answer this question would radically alter everything in their lives. It would have changed their entire world view. It
would have changed their associations and friendships. It would have affected their families and careers. And it still does. It seems to me that the pressing need today is to ask that very same question. Because, what we believe is important. Because what we believe determines how we behave. If we accept Christ for who He is, the Lord, then we will see ourselves for who we are. How would you answer the question?
